Museum of Natural History; All You Need to Know.

 

Museum of natural history is a museum located in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun state of Nigeria.

The museum is said to be the only one of it's type in west Africa aside from the Institute Fundamental Afrique Noir located in Dakar, Senegal.

The museum is also described as the 8th wonder of the world due to its beautiful architectural design.

The activity of the Natural History Museum is grouped into six main areas which includes;

Administration, 

Research, 

Collection,

Cataloguing, 

Exhibition 

and 

Training. 

Let's Tour The Museum

The museum collection's include plants, insects and other invertebrates, reptiles, birds, reptiles, rocks, fossils and minerals. 

The museum is a storey building and it is divided into compartments.

The first part on the entrance consist of fossils, insects & all

Another section in the floor section is beads, rice...

The part of the museum I love the most is located upstairs where animals are preserved in their real form

Lions, python, Ape..

The last part on the upper floor are the skeletons.

We were also shown a Rolls Royce that was two in the world as the time while Queen of England owned one & the 49th Ooni of Ife also owned one.

How To Get There 

Find your way to the school then take a bike from the school gate to the museum for 150 naira.
